A few of our ongoing (or upcoming) projects – a brief description of some of the projects we are currently working on. Check back often for project updates as design on these and other projects continues.
SPM began work on a home renovation located in the Warwick Neck area of Warwick, RI. Initial plans are to include a new 600 sf home theater, 1/2 bath, kitchenette area, and the addition of a roof-top observation room to provide panoramic views of the waterfront property. After that, it’s on to the master bedroom for some updates. We’ll keep the site updated as progress … well…. progresses.

We begin design for a new 2500 sf waterfront home located in Narragansett, RI. With any luck, we will also simutaneously be working on a home design for a neighboring property as well. We are looking forward to the opportunities these two projects offer and will keep the site updated as we progress further.

SPM Design has been contracted to design a new 6,000 sf office building addition in Cranston, RI The design start date is pending site plan review with the City. More to follow soon….

Adult Daycare—
SPM Design has been selected to design a new 4000 sf adult daycare in the providence area. The program will include offices, reception, music and pet therapy, horticulture, private resting rooms, among other activities. Construction should begin during the summer of 2009.

Mineral Spring Ave Artist Studios—
The ongoing mill conversion development continues … SPM Design recently wrapped up design documents for phase 3 of the former ‘Big Fitness’ area of the complex, adding another 9000 sf of rentable studio space. Construction of phase 1 of the ‘Big Fitness’ area is wrapping up. We are looking forward to next project, a coffee shop/ gallery, to be started as soon as a suitable location in the compex opens up.

Medical Office Building —
SPM Design’s fourth joint venture with Pathmark Medical Development of Warwick. Initial meetings are underway for a new 10,000 sf medical office building planned for Warwick, RI. All zoning approvals have been obtained and preliminary design phases should be starting this spring.

Medical Office Building (another one…)—
SPM Design’s largest project to date (should it ever start)- a 90,000 sf medical office building in Taunton, MA. Unfortunately, progress on this project has proceeded at a crawl due to environmental site issues. But the light at the end of that tunnel is peeking and, hopefully, design will begin around the end of 2009.
