To our residential clients….

At SPM Design, our approach to residential design is to listen and learn.  We understand that, if planning an addition, you, the client, have likely already put a lot of thought into your wants and needs; you have likely lived in the house for years and know what changes you want to make.  And if you’re planning an entire new house, you’ve likely put much thought into that as well, usually long before you decide to obtain an architect.

We will listen to your needs first and foremost.  We will not force our design ideals on you, or come back insisting on design concepts completely different than, or vastly more expensive than, your original ideas. We will, however, suggest improvements, if required, or alternate ideas, based on our experience and expertise.  It is our goal to work with you, and add value to your project through careful thought and coordination, often resulting in clients realizing more savings in construction changes and costs than our total fee for services.

We offer a varied level of design service – we will work with you to provide a level of drawings appropriate to your project and budget, as we realize that not all projects require a 100 page set of documents.  We can provide a simple permit set of drawings for permit submittal, or extend our services to include interior design, product selection, custom millwork details, and assistance throughout the construction process.  We are LEED certified and offer “green” design assistance.

We have worked, and continue to work, on all sizes of residential projects.  A review of our residential portfolio page will show that we’ve worked on everything from a 400sf porch addition to 5000sf new-construction projects.  No project is too big or small, but all clients, regardless of project size, deserve a professional level of care.

We can efficiently, and cost effectively, provide “3D” perspective computer-generated renderings to give our clients a realistic view of their design at the very beginning of the design process, allowing our clients a clear understanding of the overall final look of the project.

Feel free to contact us if you’d like a consultation meeting to discuss your upcoming project.
